Democrat’s, The Lawyer’s Party And Their Fusion Of Our Three Branches Of Government.
Contrary to the intentions of our founding fathers and the Constitution that resulted from their efforts, the separation required of our three branches of government is no more!
Presented under the Purpose / Governance section of LemmingsOrLions.com is the concept of “Positive Change” in Americas governance and the methodology recommended to bring it about.
Among the recommendations it is proposed that we pursue a constitutional amendment which is stated as follows and for the reasons reflected;
“An Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America Limiting any person, trained in matters of law, and at any time having passed or practiced under any state bar, the right to hold elected office at a federal level to the Judicial Branch only.”
“Every person and profession in America is subject to the scrutiny and touch of the legal profession and each of us has at some point felt the positive or negative reality of that phenomena. But who serves judge and jury over the legal profession but the legal profession itself. They have penetrated deeply into all matters of civil society and yet are subject to little or no scrutiny except by their very peers. If this is not a recipe for malfeasance than nothing is and it must be stopped. Additionally, the founders established clear separations for our governance by the creation of the executive, legislative and judicial branches. At no time could they have anticipated however that one profession of citizen would come to occupy and ultimately control all three as is the reality seen today. Lawyers have expertise primarily in judicial matters and that is where it should be employed… in the judiciary. Citizens who make up the legislative and executive branches, and who should represent other professions if any, can look to them for guidance. No one group should have so much power over all the others.”
In the American Thinker dated February 11, 2010 the case for doing so is further advanced by Bruce Walker and we could not agree more with his observations.
The Lawyers Party
Source: American Thinker – February 11, 2010, By Bruce Walker
The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers’ Party. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are lawyers. Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama are lawyers. John Edwards, the other former Democrat candidate for president, is a lawyer and so is his wife Elizabeth. Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate.) Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school. Look at the Democrat Party in Congress: the Majority Leader in each house is a lawyer.
The Republican Party is different. President Bush and Vice President Cheney were not lawyers, but businessmen. The leaders of the Republican Revolution were not lawyers. Newt Gingrich was a history professor; Tom Delay was an exterminator; and Dick Armey was an economist. House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer, not a lawyer. The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.
Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office thirty-one years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976. The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work. The Democratic Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history like Gingrich.
The Lawyers’ Part
y sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America. And so we have seen the procession of official enemies in the eyes of the Lawyers’ Party grow. Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers and anyone producing anything of value in our nation.
This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers. Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.
Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all consuming. Some Americans become “adverse parties” of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class action suit. We are citizens of a republic which promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.
Today, we are drowning in laws, we are contorted by judicial decisions, we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big.
When lawyers use criminal prosecution as a continuation of politics by other means, as happened in the lynching of Scooter Libby and Tom Delay, then the power of lawyers in America is too great. When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to use, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.
We cannot expect the Lawyers’ Party to provide real change, real reform or real hope in America. Most Americans know that a republic in which every major government action must be blessed by nine unelected judges is not what Washington intended in 1789. Most Americans grasp that we cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at the heels of our defenders. Most Americans intuit that more lawyers and judges will not restore declining moral values or spark the spirit of enterprise in our economy.
Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.
LemmingsOrLions. com would suggest that America is not well served by this takeover of all matters of our governance and serious consideration must be given to the implications of allowing it to continue. We shall leave it to the members of the legal profession to propose why it should not be so entertained expecting full well that arguments inclusive of the unconstitutionality of it will be well represented. No need to state the obvious hypocrisy in that. Or not… You decide.

Yes, Brucie there are too many lawyers and not enough good ones, and too many run for office. But to call these corrupt murderous stiffs “businessmen” is to insult the real businesspeople. And to disparage the legal profession with a broad brush is to denigrate the Greatest Republican Abe Lincoln (the man who said a lawyer’s time and advice is his stock and trade), who is the ultimate American lawyer (he made himself wealthy representing railroads –and yet preserved the union and freed the slaves; the progeny of one such slave is the Chairman of the Republican Party).
Scott Brown, was in law school when I was there, btw.
Yes, President Bush was a businessman – a failure who finally used some of Dad’s money and friends to buy a little bit of a baseball franchise. Vice President Cheney is not a treu businessman – no a hack whose first private sector job in late middle age was at Halliburton where he leveraged institutional government corruption to profit from government contracts. The leaders of the Republican Revolution (really not Reagan?):
Newt Gingrich was a history professor, yes not a business man, he did not get tenure but he did seduce his teacher – nasty business indeed. Tom Delay was an exterminator – need anymore be said, his own party exterminated his speakership? Dick Armey was an economist, hmm, ok not a businessman and not anyone you would want near your business . House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer, yes a very rich man who made incredible amount of money of putting plastic where it has no business being, and favors the rich….which by the way is not us. . oh by way Dr. Frist’s name is not First and Dad bought him the hospitals (and managed to avoid the Medicaid fraud claim)
By the way, many of us republicans who actually care about facts are on the side of the old lady who suffered because freakin Mickey Dee’s (until the lawsuit), kept its coffee scalding.
Ouch… Bruce touched a raw nerve for sure, and by way of response… Lincoln Progeny chooses to label republicans (of which he claims to be a member) the “Businessman’s Party” so as to change the subject and avoid the conclusion of Bruce’s article. It does not negate the fact that the argument and conclusions put forth by Bruce remain unchallenged… at least by Lincoln Progeny who presents us with a classic lib tactic… change the subject and hope no one notices.
So tell us Mr. Progeny, do you take offense with the notion that with rare exception lawyers are on average 3 to 1 democrats. Or is it the fact that it has not gone unnoticed that in terms of contributions by state and national Lawyer associations/professional groups more than 6 times more money goes to the democrat party. Perhaps you are a republican, although you failed in making your case, and your real upset is the fact that you find yourself in a profession that has done more to tear this country apart and usurp its constitution than any other. No other profession occupies more positions of power in all three of our branches of government and no other profession has done more to advance their own progeny ( try to get your head around that). By way of this reality we need not look to far to find the real culprits responsible for the morass in which we now find ourselves… lawyers, once members of a proud and noble profession, now reduced to self serving businessmen (most, not all) members of the democratic party.
Lincoln Progeny, it would seem to me that in the court of public opinion, the rational argument will always prevail over the emotional one, unless your a democrat… in which case all bets are off. Perhaps next time, you will give it a go.
