NO Mosque At “Ground Zero” And Why That… Is A Very Good Idea!

No doubt about it, the possibility of a new mosque at Ground Zero has unleashed a clash of epic and highly combustible proportions.

Fielded on one side… the bulk of the totally insane membership of the progressive liberal democrat party, other “why can’t we just all get along Eyes Wide Shut to Reality” citizenry and members of the “Muslims of the World Unite Against America” bunch. On the other and in a nutshell, but not of the acorn variety, the “clinging to their guns and religion” bunch.

I am, and happily so, a member of the latter group, although the role of religion in my life is best described as devoid of the embellishments of ceremony or pomp and circumstance. I believe in a higher authority and in the manifestation of it in my life. I do so without imposing my beliefs on others but try, through my actions, to be a better citizen and neighbor in the process. I expect the same consideration from those around me, near and far.

The reality is that Muslims, by and large, take a very different point of view… or at least the ones with a voice. If there is a different point of view we have yet to hear it with any volume or consistency. Until heard otherwise there is one view point and one alone and that is “Out with your religion and way of life and in with ours”…  and with it the ever important and not to be ignored point, over your dead body if need be.

Of course all of this seems so foreign to many of those whose life experience leaves them devoid of any capacity to see outside themselves and with it the harsh realities of Islam as it is practiced in all but a few tiny enclaves. Realities not pretty no matter how well packaged.

Well, in an effort to assist those who lack the life experience and are therefor prone to illogical conclusions to simply asked questions I present Pat Condel. This in the hope that his ‘foreign’ point of view (he’s from England) might accelerate the learning curve of those less informed among us.

A popular theme of movies used to be the mayhem that came after something was built unknowingly on Native American Burial Ground. We watched as awful things happened until this wrong was righted. But, for some reason, this same respect and honor to OUR dead is not extended. Is America so horrible that our honored dead cannot be respected and honored? Instead, a victory mosques is promoted to be built near the sacred site, so shards of pain will pierce the sufferers once again, while the whole Muslim world looks on. Will it extend from cheering and sharing candy by Muslims on the streets on 9/11 when news of the disaster was received, to cheering and rejoicing when the victory mosque is finally built? And I am not supposed to oppose this with every fiber in my being?

I saw humans throw themselves from windows, plummeting to the sidewalk of death. I saw firemen and first responders racing up stairs that led only to eternity, noble men all. I saw crowds with tears streaming posting pictures and seeking word, any word, of loved ones, now lost. All of New York became my family, my brothers and sisters, and I mourned with them and loved them, and prayed for them and for their economic wellbeing, and tours of the state were promoted by caring citizens nationwide, to help them recover.

All this is our history, and we should step aside and allow a mosque built there now, to show our tolerance? I don’t feel tolerant. Sorry. Call me names. I don’t care. I care about the honored dead. I care about the surviving families. Take your sharia law, and your cruelty to women, and stuff it. Find someplace else for a mosque and somewhere else for your intolerant religion. Amen.
