Governance

LEMMINGSORLIONS.COM ADVOCATES BOLD INITIATIVES TO EFFECT NEEDED CHANGE IN MATTERS OF OUR GOVERNANCE. WE MUST REMOVE THOSE FROM ELECTED OFFICE THAT HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO OUR CURRENT STATE AND EMBRACE CITIZENS FOR ELECTION THAT WILL BRING COMMON SENSE AND AN ADVOCACY TOWARDS PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY TO WASHINGTON.

ADDITIONALLY, WE BELIEVE PURSUIT OF THE FOLLOWING ARE GOALS KEY TO OUR DESIRED RE-FOUNDING  OF AMERICA INITIATIVE.

1) The removal from office all currently elected members of the legislative branch of the current federal government of the United States of America.

All incumbents out, republican and democrat alike. When a fish stinks, it stinks from the head first. They must go. In this regard their experience is a negative.

2) Repeal of the 17th Amendment which modified Article 1, Section 3 of the Constitution of the United States of America.

The states must be able to send to Washington those who reflect the composure of the state legislatures representative base and not the popular vote of its citizens. We are a republic and for a very good reason. A state must also be able to recall from Washington or replace outright, like a country might its ambassador when it deems it necessary to do so, its state representatives at any time. Finally, the six year duration of service makes us all prisoners to political parties or worse yet the influence of others who might not be predisposed to the states interest. The founders had it largely right and the 17th amendment has caused far more damage than good.

3) The establishment of Term Limits on all elected members of the legislative branch and a prohibition on their ever returning to a previously held elected position once a Term Limit has been reached.

In matters of state or federal politics, duration of service must be curtailed to specific limits. Anyone who believes that experience works to a states citizens benefit need only look to our current state of affairs to know that in politics, too much experience is an albatross.

4) An Amendment to Article 1, Section 2 of the Constitution of the United States of America requiring  that Congressional districts be established and that such districts boundaries be defined as areas that are square in shape UNLESS, such congressional district is bound by State borders, in which case the congressional district may take the shape of such state border along not more than 2 of its sides.

Gerrymandering must be stopped. It is a gross fraud and is designed to give those elected and their party power and protections they do not deserve. No one can say that it serves the states citizens well when they are routinely subject to redistricting.

5) An Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America Limiting any person, trained in matters of  law, and at any time having passed or practiced under any state bar, the right to hold elected office at a federal level to the Judicial Branch only.

Every person and profession in America is subject to the scrutiny and touch of the legal profession and each of us has at some point felt the positive or negative reality of that phenomena. But who serves judge and jury over the legal profession but the legal profession itself. They have penetrated deeply into all matters of civil society and yet are subject to little or no scrutiny except by their very peers. If this is not a recipe for malfeasance than nothing is and it must be stopped. Additionally, the founders established clear separations for our governance by the creation of the executive, legislative and judicial branches. At no time could they have anticipated however that one profession of citizen would come to occupy and ultimately control all three as is the reality seen today. Lawyers have expertise primarily in judicial matters and that is where it should be employed… in the judiciary. Citizens who make up the legislative and executive branches, and who should represent other professions if any, can look to them for guidance. No one group should have so much power over all the others.

6) An Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America prohibiting the passage of any law that has not been read aloud in the respective chambers of the House and Senate, whose authorship is not revealed to a depth of 3 levels, and contains not more than 2 separate and distinct disbursements of taxpayer dollars irrespective of source or recipient.

The voting on and passage of any law not read before hand and not presented to the citizens before hand is stupid on its face and any reason not to do so is a non-starter. Only someone desirous of deception would support such a practice. Additionally, the authorship must be revealed so the citizens can know from where the mandates imposed originate and more importantly the thrust of agenda behind them.

7) An Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America requiring the immediate impeachment and removal from office any elected official, of any of the three (3) branches of the federal government, who violates by action or inaction, the Constitution of the United States of America. Such impeachment shall be authorized by a majority vote of the members of both the House  and Senate.

Is it not time that those who swear to uphold and defend the constitution be held accountable when they do not. They took an oath and then violate it with impunity. There is nothing right or good about it and it must be stopped. To do otherwise is to promote deception of the highest order and we have been victims of that for far to long. Enough is enough.

And Lastly,

8) An Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America requiring that all members of the Judiciary, Executive and Legislative branches be subject to any and all laws imposed upon its citizens without exception.

They must be bound to the rules and regulations they impose on all of us. They are not an elite class and they are not to be treated as one. They are there to serve us and our future generations and they are there to do well by all of us… Good for the goose… good for the gander. The corrupt practices of the political elite in Washington must come to an end.

Are these bold goals? Yes.

Are they enough for a start? Yes but there will be much more to do once they are accomplished.

Will they require significant intestinal fortitude by the citizens of the United States if they are to pass? Yes.

Will every attempt to derail them be made by the current sitting members of all three branches of government? Yes.

Will the two official parties, as they are now led, agree to supporting this initiative? Highly unlikely.

Will these goals be met peacefully and without the need for civil disobedience on any scale? I hope so.

Should that deter us in accomplishing our mission? That is for each and every one of us to decide but as a point of reference… During the revolutionary war it is believed that only 6 percent of the colonists took up arms against the British and in the end the colonists were victorious. Not that I am suggesting anything beyond the fact that it takes WILL TO WIN, although it doesn’t hurt to have the numbers on your side…

And therein lies the most important point of all.  Lemmings or Lions. Which are you? Time to choose.
