America’s Founding Documents?… Who Cares!

There are few civil societies in the world where the premise of their orderly management is so clearly articulated as that of the United States of America. Our founders understood that if they were to avoid the the tyranny of their past they needed to have clearly stated moral convictions, well defined parameters for the role of their government, and last but not least an expansive view of human rights that embraced all members of their society.
This feat was accomplished over much time and debate and resulted in what is known today as our nations founding documents. The words put to paper commencing in 1776 have for over 200 years formed the foundation of the relationship between our nations governance and of the those governed.
Today it is believed by many, that the principles espoused in the founding documents have been largely ignored by an ever expanding and intrusive government, or worse yet, willfully violated by a ruling elite irrespective of political philosophy. Read more: America’s Founding Documents?… Who Cares!

1776: Victory, or Death? 2010: Just Plain Victory!
Canada Free Press – By Jim O’Neill Monday, February 1, 2010
“Posterity (to all future generations) you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.” —John Quincy Adams (1767-1848) Sixth President of the United States
“The [Revolutionary] war was a longer, far more arduous, and more painful struggle than later generations would understand or sufficiently appreciate.” —David McCullough
The scene by the Delaware river was illuminated by flickering wood fires started by the men; a few lanterns, and a scattering of storm-tossed torch-light.
George Washington sat on his horse, with his back turned to the wind and sleet. It was 3:00 a.m. the morning after Christmas, 1776. He and his ragged band of soldiers had just crossed the Delaware river into New Jersey from Pennsylvania. They were gathering for an assault on German mercenaries—the Hessians—hired by Great Britain to help stamp out the revolt in their American colonies. The Hessians were stationed about ten snow-covered miles away, in Trenton, New Jersey.
The crossing of the Delaware had been more difficult than anticipated, and Washington and his force were now three hours behind schedule. They were one tine of a planned three pronged attack on Trenton, and Washington knew that his force would no longer be able to meet up with the other two forces on time. He had to decide, quickly, whether or not to go ahead with the attack.. Read more: “These Are The Times That Try Men’s Souls”. “Tyranny, Like Hell, Is Not Easily Conquered”

George Could Have Hurled Words at Them…
Last Updated on Tuesday, 22 December 2009 09:54 Created on Saturday, 19 December 2009 02:05

Unlike our current president, George Washington knew that talking to your enemies in the midst of war did nothing but buy them time. Better to win first, then talk. Good thing George wasn’t confused about his right to bear arms or in using them to kill the enemy. Nor was he deterred in his action by progressive liberal democrats wanting to appease those desirous of doing him harm, (well maybe a few and surprise, surprise, they were from New York where they’re offspring reside to this day). Had things then been like now, we would all be sipping tea and driving on the other side of the road… with nary a StarBucks to be found. Horror!
